There were two big winter storms in Oklahoma during the Winter of 2009-2010.  The first storm that hit on Christmas Eve, 2009 was the worst in Oklahoma's recoreded weather history.  Not much by some standards, but if the local community is not prepared, it can be life threatening.
These photos are after the second and for us, the worst of the two storms, at the end of January, 2010.  The differences for us was the amount of freezing rain and ice accumulation in the trees.
The pink hues in the sunrise are highlighted by the ice on cottonwood tree .
One can see that the wind during the freezing rain was blowing from left to right, or from the North.
It is easy to see that there are lots of forest creatures out and about at night....
Again, the accumulated ice on the tree branches is highlighted by the pink hues of the early morning sun.

Where do birds go during storms at any time of year..????
Normally the tree branches are 2.5 - 3 feet above the roof.
